Review: LEGO® 71714 Kai avatar arcade pod

This new digi NINJAGO® series caught my eyes with the very cool arcade pod, and was released early in the year 2020.

All ninja or NINJAGO® fans would love this set.

The arcade pod is a good storage for all weapons and both Digi Kai & Avatar Kai. Pretty neat!

This set cost S$14.90 in Singapore stores, should be about the same price when converted to currencies of respective countries.

A great way to add to your NINJAGO® series

Inside the BOX

Inside the box contains 2 bags of LEGO® with the arcade pod, instructions and sticker.

Instruction book

Stickers

It was a little disappointing that my set's instruction and sticker were bent when I open it.
This is probably due to the way it was packed.
Interesting stickers at the top of the sticker sets. its free for you to place it anywhere in your set.
You can even place it on special bricks.

Minifigures

There is one exclusive minifigure (avatar Kai) and a relatively cheaper way of getting digi Kai.

Remember my bent sticker? Lucky it looks fine after pasting onto the arcade pod, after a few minutes of patience.

Inside the arcade box storage of Kai's weapons.

This is the way I prefer to store both my Kais in the arcade pod.
There is a recommended way to store avatar Kai in the instructions, but Kai needs to be dismantle, which I personally don't really like =)

Here are some of the weapons exclusive to this NINJAGO® series.

Summary

All in all, I like lego ninjas, so this is a great add on to one of my favourite sets "Destiny's Bounty 70618" which I will review in the future, and show you a personal views on that NINJAGO® flying ship. Although the NINJAGO® series is different, I like to have an army of ninjas on the Destiny's Bounty ship =). Would recommend as a good set for a gift as well as for ninja collections.

What I liked:
  • Reasonable cost
  • I liked the cool colours of the ninja weapons
  • Cool looking arcade pod and minifigures
  • Exclusive minifigure Avatar Kai

What I didn't like:
  • My instruction set and stickers were bent, which is a disappointment for a collector myself.

Overall rating: 3.5 / 5
