Vintage lego review: 6262 King Kahuka's throne

This is a Vintage set from 1994. I had this set since I was a kid ~6 years old.
Pirates theme was great, but missing some challengers, until the islander theme came along. Let's take a closer look at this vintage set.

The BOX

Front

As a kid back then, I did not know how to take care of boxes, therefore the crease at the front of the box =P

Other ways to build this set shown on the back of the box. however there are no instructions on how to build these. We can only guess how to build these using our imagination =)

Both pirates minifigures are similar to other pirate sets. No details on their back.

Quite simple without much build or detail.

This set is probably not representing an actual history or specific culture. I think it is more of depicting islanders from somewhere in the pacific. I like how the colour combinations work out well for this islander.

Drum, table and fire in front of the throne

Simple design yet representing islanders. I like how the leaves come out of the throne, giving it a naturalistic look. even the mini drum and fire features does add to this island well.

Summary

Overall a great islander theme to challenge the pirates. small set but the details are considered great to bring out the island theme. Keeping in mind this was designed in 1994!

Likes:

• King kahuka and his mask is super impressive!
• Islanders with some interesting detail.
• The unique and nice looking islander shields.
• Pirate scout boat with rotating sail.
• Crocodile! I see it as a guardian for the islander.
• Great looking throne head.
• Other creative ways to build this islander set can be found on the back of the box, no instructions though.
• This is a vintage set!

What I didn't like:

• Treasure chest was similar to pirates theme, would be great to have a unique islander treasure chest.
• A little too plain, would be great to have some trees/shrubs.
• Too few islanders!
• Not much details on the back of minifigures.
